About the event
You've been called in to Jura Duty! In this tasting journey through the Jura region, you'll discover the magic of terroir-driven wines and the exquisite craftsmanship of local cheeses, all harmoniously paired to create an unforgettable experience that pays homage to the rich traditions of this enchanting corner of France.
This special class will be hosted by our friend and Philly-based sommelier, Dan Solway of Santé. Dan has converted his Italian Market apartment into an intimate dining and wine tasting space, having hosted dozens of tastings and events with some of the best chefs in the city.
A note from Dan:
"It’s January folks, arguably the saddest month of the year, but slightly less sad because it’s…JURA DUTY TIME. That’s right, what better way to zoom through the gloom then with some juicy Poulsard, mouth-watering Savagnin, and Comté cheese. This is a very special tasting because I’ll be joined by the Queen of Curds herself, Julia Birnbaum. Crazily enough, last summer Julia and I both took trips to the Jura region of France, just narrowly missing each other. We’ve been wanting to dive into this region with you for a while now and share some of our favorite wines, cheeses, and stories."
Dan and I can't wait to share all that we learned on our travels and introduce you to some of our favorite pairings. We'll even share some pictures from our trips to help transport you to the Jura with us.
Please note this class DOES NOT take place at the PCS Classroom. This event will be held at the Santé dining room, located in the Italian Market just a few blocks away. Upon booking, you will recieve the address.
